Let’s take a quick inventory of our blessings!

We are in the midst of navigating a new normal. Lots of things are different and a little complicated to navigate. And there certainly have been some heartaches and disappointments along the way.

But, there have also been many blessings, large and small.

If you practice looking for blessings, they will be easier to see. I often say “You will find what you are looking for” and this definitely applies to blessings! I challenge you to make a list of them. Can you come up with at least three each day for a week? I hope you can, but if this exercise stretches you, that’s ok. In times of uncertainty, it is easy to see the unknowns and the difficulties and get caught up in the “What does this mean?” Let’s not lose sight of the blessings while we work towards overcoming the challenges in our daily lives!

Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you.  You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.  I will be found by you,” declares the Lord, “and will bring you back from captivity. I will gather you from all the nations and places where I have banished you,” declares the Lord, “and will bring you back to the place from which I carried you into exile.” Jeremiah 29:12-14 NIV

PrayerPoints is typically a Lenten project and a chronicle of God working on my heart and mind. It is always a process. God is always teaching me! I am American born with Hungarian blood. I make plenty of mistakes but I am forgiven. Each day is an adventure.

  1. One of my blessings are your messages. a voice of hope, calm and reality. Yes we are dealing with a new disease that has impacted all of us ,but daily life does go on. Your reliance on God clarifies this. Not everything is illness, there are still good things in life. I hope we all take many steps to keep healthy, to realize what is truly important and to understand that this a big country and there are regional differences. BIG example, tornadoes! Yikes I wouldn’t know how to react to a tornado warning! I live in the West, earthquakes are a fact of life as well as tremendously destructive wildfires, the West is very dry and spread out. What are my blessings about that? Realizing I can’t stop them but I can prepare for them and counting my blessings for everyday we don’t have them! There is still daily life and God’s grace all around. As for similarities to “your neck of the woods: I am blessed with a loving family, good health, a sense of humor and most importantly the love of the Lord. And back to Mother Nature and her methods of natural phenomenon, we do have floods, heavy rains, blizzards, I was stuck at home during my niece’s’s wedding(7 plus feet of snow on the ground) Springtime flowers and critters galore! Each day is a gift that is why it is called “the present” Take care , all the best!
