Rest

It’s so very interesting to start a year and need rest. After some of the unknowns of 2020, we are a week into 2021 with more of the same. And it feels like more “rest” is in my future.

My hope is to embrace it more thoroughly this year. I resisted it in 2020. I was a bit frustrated, and in some respects, I welcomed the slower pace.

The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing.
He makes me lie down in green pastures,
he leads me beside quiet waters,
    he refreshes my soul.
He guides me along the right paths
for his name’s sake. Psalm 23:1-3

It feels like much of the world has been made to lie down. Although, I am aware that for others, the demands have been incredible.

Whether or not you are resting in green pastures, stealing moments to be refreshed near still waters, or having your soul refreshed through God’s Word and Sacrament, it is my prayer that you are able to have your soul restored by the Healer!

May you embrace the moments of rest!
