God’s goodness

It isn’t always easy to see God’s goodness in the midst of struggles. But it is there. He is there.

I have often imagined how I would think about being alive during Jesus’ day and if I was a witness to the events unfolding this Holy week.

I am sure I would not see God’s goodness in the middle of it. But it is there. He is there.

In each of our situations, He is with us. In our deepest tragedy, He is there. When we are unsure of our next step, He can guide us.

This “Good Friday” doesn’t look so great with eyes that don’t have faith. And, even with eyes that do have faith it can look like death and destruction. And it is that. But from God’s perspective it looks like a death that gives new life. And the destruction of the division between God and His people. It’s a death and destruction that gives new life and resurrection.

When we are in the midst of difficulties and heartache it is difficult to see the Heavenly perspective. But ask God to give you a glimpse of it. Back up and look at it in context of the bigger picture. But, most importantly, trust that God is good and He is faithful. We will see the bigger picture one day.

For the LORD is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations. Psalm 100:5
