Illness and medical emergencies

Heavenly Father, be with those who are in the midst of medical emergencies — be with all injured and ill and those who love them.

Sometimes the injured one is trying to make some heavy decisions but other times it is family or friends. Naturally, doctors are likely involved – they need prayer as well.

Pray for everyone impacted — the relatives unable to be with their loved ones due to distance or finances or schedules that don’t cooperate. And those too young to understand what is happening, only that life at home seems to be a little more stressful.

It rarely is the case when the ill person is the only one impacted. So when I am praying for an ill person I almost always visualize that person and all that might be going on around them — from medical professionals to family conversations to the general disruption that illness can bring.
